The primary goal of the task force is to assess the scope of the potential foreclosure problem in Maryland and recommend ways to prevent foreclosure and preserve homeownership. The task force will provide a forum to evaluate existing financial assistance programs, share ideas and best practices, identify private resources, review the legal and regulatory landscape and current mortgage lending practices and, ultimately, to make recommendations for improving outcomes for Maryland homeowners – both now and in the future.
